Richard and Rachel were met at the church by the Reverend Canon David Green. The service of blessing differs in a number of ways from a standard marriage service. The groom does not wait at the front of the congregation for the bride to enter escorted by her father – the bride and groom enter together as man and wife. Jay, the best man, drew back the solid oak doors for the bride and groom who made their way to take a pew at the front of the congregation.
