Our wedding day was, predictably, very busy. The day started for everyone with breakfast although the settings were very different. The guests enjoyed a leisurely breakfast in their respective hotel breakfast rooms while Rachel took breakfast while having her hair and make-up prepared for the day.
Richard and Jay, meanwhile, were rushing around at Vera’s house preparing suits and making sure that the day’s food and drink was ready for the mountain railway, as the food had to travel with them in the groom’s wedding car.
We were blessed, however, with wonderful weather. The three days before had been unsettled, wet and windy. Our wedding day was to start with a mellow covering of cloud which by late morning would clear to glorious sunshine.
